This was a very enjoyable evening, and we discovered some fascinating books, and we also heard the stories behind why they were chosen.
Our books spanned the centuries form 16thc Galileo through to the 20thc and Secrets of the universe.
It’s difficult to report on all these books here, except to say that we have many good astronomy books around today and a long history of writing them that has developed ideas and hypothesis through the centuries, we know so much about our cosmos, and yet we are also reminded that we still have so much to learn!
Science fiction was one theme at our evening many of us have read sci-fi and got an intertest in astronomy from it.
It’s reported that reading is rising in popularity, as are book sales, so visit a book shop and see if you can find one of these and get reading.
I would recommend them all!
