Flamsteed Summer Social: 10 July 2025

Thanks to everyone who came along to the summer social drinks on the evening of 10 July at The Old Brewery in Greenwich! It was a very hot, heatwave evening, so we made the most of the weather by gathering outdoors in the pub garden. There was plenty of chat, banter, and laughter - a lovely atmosphere. Much drink was drunk, and the snacks were scoffed at the speed of light!

Each time we hold a pub social, we seem to have a few more attendees and a few new faces too, which is always a pleasure. This time we had 35 members!

The Flamsteed Astronomy Society lived up to its reputation as “a drinking club with a serious astronomy problem” 🙂. If you missed Bobby’s short pre-lecture talk about the history of the society on 23 June, do watch the recording to learn more about that reference. We did the society proud!

Our next society social night will be our Christmas social in December - date to be confirmed. Whether you’re a regular, a newcomer, or have never joined a pub social before, we hope to see you then!
