About the Event
Synopsis:
This workshop introduces landscape astrophotography by linking the traditions of classical landscape painting with modern night-sky imaging. It explores the historical development of both landscape art and astrophotography composition, while focusing on practical approaches to photographing the night sky within a terrestrial landscape. Participants will gain an overview of the equipment and methods used for night photography - including cameras, lenses, tripods, and modern mobile phones capable of night-sky capture - providing a foundation for creating compelling nightscape images. The workshop will also include short presentations from members of the Flamsteed Astronomy Society sharing their own experiences and approaches to landscape astrophotography.
