As part of a special evening event at the Old Royal Naval College, members of the Flamsteed Astronomy Society will be on the lawns with telescopes to give visitors a close-up view of the Moon. The Moon will be a bright waxing gibbous, high in the south-east and showing plenty of detail on its surface.
Our volunteers will be on hand throughout the evening to guide you through the telescopic views, point out features on the lunar surface, and answer questions about observing the night sky. If the weather is cloudy, we will still be available to talk about telescopes, astronomy, and how best to get started in stargazing.
