RESCHEDULED: Blackheath Observing Event - Saturday 21 February 2026 (weather back-up 22 February)
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO 21/22 FEBRUARY, DUE TO POOR WEATHER ON 14/15 FEBRUARY We are running a free public astronomy observing event on Blackheath Common. All members and non members are welcome.

UPDATE: Blackheath Observing – Postponed (14/15 February 2026)
Unfortunately, we will not be proceeding with this weekend’s Blackheath observing session.
Although skies were clear on Saturday morning, cloud is forecast to move in from late afternoon, thickening into full overcast conditions during the evening. This leaves no realistic opportunity for sustained observing.
Sunday offers only limited clear spells, with a high likelihood of showers moving in from the west. In addition, heavy rain during the day is expected to leave the ground saturated, making set-up and pack-down more difficult.
We have therefore taken the decision to postpone the session to next weekend:
