Update 9/1/2026 – Blackheath Observing Session Rescheduled
The weather forecast for this weekend has continued to deteriorate. While there may be brief clearer spells on Saturday evening, conditions are not expected to be good enough to justify running an observing session, and Sunday is now forecast to be wet and windy.
We have therefore rescheduled the first Blackheath observing session of 2026 to next weekend, with Saturday 17 January as the main date and Sunday 18 January as the weather back-up.
A further update will be posted nearer the time, including the usual go/no-go decision based on the latest forecasts.
Event Details
Saturday is the main night. In case of poor weather, the event will be moved to Sunday evening, or a following weekend.
