About the Event
THIS EVENT IS CONFIRMED ON FOR FRIDAY 11 JULY
We’re pleased to confirm that our next public solar viewing session will go ahead on Friday 11 July 2025, at the Royal Observatory Greenwich, from 11am to 4pm.
The weather forecast looks excellent, with clear skies expected for most of the day. However, temperatures could reach around 30°C by mid-afternoon, so we may shorten the session slightly depending on how conditions develop. Please come prepared for the heat, bring water, and take advantage of the gazebo for some welcome shade.
The session takes place at the Dolphin Sundial area, just inside the main entrance at the Royal Observatory Greenwich. Flamsteed Astronomy Society volunteers will be on hand with specialist solar telescopes, offering safe and fascinating views of the Sun – including sunspots, prominences, and other solar features.
Please note that normal Royal Observatory admission charges apply. There’s no additional cost to attend…
