Following our recent FAS workshops on Telescopes and Astrophotography, we would like to take you through the fascinating area of “Electronically Assisted Astronomy” or EAA for short. Observational astronomy has starting to shift from the traditional setup where people look through the eyepiece to view celestial objects to a more integrated setup where viewings are done on a smartphone or tablet using a wide range of Smart Telescopes. This is the area of EAA.
What You can Expect
Bobby will use this workshop to zone into the advantages and disadvantages of EAA, show what options are available and provide guidelines on features and functionalities that are available on Smart Telescopes for both observing and astrophotography. Additionally, he will take a deep dive into how one can transform a traditional setup into a typical EAA kit using a small single board computer called a Raspberry Pi. This…
