About the Event
THIS EVENT IS CONFIRMED ON FOR SATURDAY 14TH SEPTEMBER
We will meet in our usual spot, just north of Talbot Place, at around 8.00pm.
If you are bringing equipment that you need assistance with, please arrive at 7.30pm, so we can help you before the main event begins.
Our main targets for the evening will be the 85% Waxing Gibbous Moon, along with the planet Saturn. There will be plenty more to see, providing the skies remain clear!
This is a public event so all are welcome to attend - members and non-members. There is no need to book. There should be plenty of telescopes and binoculars available to take you on a tour of the sky, but if you are able to bring a telescope or binoculars then please do, the more the merrier! We will also have a selection of the latest "smart" telescopes for you to see.
Our viewing area on Blackheath is quite exposed, so don't forget to wrap up warm! Even though the temperatures won't drop too low this evening, it can get surprisingly cold standing for long periods of time in this area after dark.
Parking is free after 6.30pm. A map of the site can be found here
