About the Event

Our Blackheath observing session will go ahead on Saturday 14 March.

With sunset now after 6pm, the session will begin slightly later than usual. The official start time is 7.30pm, with some volunteers arriving from around 7.00pm to set up.

The forecast currently suggests clear skies, improving as the evening progresses. There is a small possibility of showers around 6pm, but we expect any rain to have cleared before the start of the session.

If conditions cooperate, likely targets will include:

  • Jupiter (with the Great Red Spot visible)

  • M42 Orion Nebula
