Astro Art - A Beginners Workshop

Astronomy and Art has had a long relationship going back to ancient civilizations where the medium of art was used to interpret the objects and patterns of the night sky. This is our opportunity to put away those cameras and let loose our creative side to stamp our own unique interpretations of the night sky. Don’t worry if you have never done any paintings or drawings before, as this is for complete beginners.

What You can Expect

We will use a range of art mediums including pencils, oil pastels, and charcoal to produce an art piece of the Orion Nebula to take away with you. Participants will go through the process of drawing the Nebula, adding and blending dark and light colours and adding finishing details.
