Would you like to know what life was really like living and working at the Royal Observatory, the stories that aren’t included in the official guidebooks and histories?
Last summer, we introduced a new guided tour for our visitors to the Royal Observatory which has been very well received.
To prepare we undertook a lot of research into the history of the Observatory and the people that lived and worked here as we wanted to make the tour different and engaging by including stories and anecdotes our visitors wouldn’t get elsewhere. However, we soon found the stories that most interested, amused, and shocked us were those that couldn’t be included as we needed to keep the tour suitable for visitors of all ages including young children.
